Over years of flexing under weight, those metal leaves fatigue. They can crack, lose their arch, shift out of position, or the bushings and shackles that hold them can wear out. Leaf spring replacement means removing the failed spring pack, along with worn hardware, and installing new springs that restore your vehicle’s correct ride height and load capacity.

What’s Involved in the Process
We believe you should know exactly what you’re paying for. Here’s what happens when we replace a leaf spring, start to finish.
Inspection and measurement. We lift the vehicle, measure ride height side to side, and examine the entire spring pack, shackles, bushings, U-bolts, and mounting points. We check for cracks, sag, corrosion, and shifted leaves. Then we show you what we found before recommending anything.
Supporting the axle. The rear axle is safely supported so it doesn’t drop when the spring is unloaded. This is a job where doing it right and doing it safely matter more than doing it fast.
Removing the old spring. We unbolt the U-bolts, shackles, and mounting hardware. On vehicles that have seen North Carolina humidity for years, that hardware is often rusted solid, so we take the time to free it without damaging the frame or axle.
Installing the new spring and hardware. We fit the new leaf spring, install fresh bushings, shackles, and U-bolts as needed, and torque everything to the manufacturer’s specification. Reusing badly worn hardware is a false economy, so we’re upfront if it needs replacing too.
Final check and road test. We recheck ride height, confirm the axle is properly located, and road test the vehicle to make sure the clunks and sag are gone and the ride is right.
How It Fits Into Steering and Suspension
